Saira Banu reveals why there would be no celebration on Dilip Kumar’s 98th birthday

Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu are epitome of love. They have been married for more than five decades and the kind of love and dedication they have for each other is marvellous. Legendary actor Dilip will be celebrating his 98th birthday on December 11. However this year there would be no lavish bash or celebration.

Saira revealed that owing to the demise of Dilip’s two brothers, this year there would be no celebration. She also cited the veteran actor’s ailing health as one of the reasons why they won’t be celebrating his birthday.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Sair Banu revealed that generally, she arranges for a lavish bash for her husband but this year there won’t be any. “We have had a catastrophe this year. Dilip sahab lost his two brothers. He doesn’t keep well, neither do I. It’s a difficult time for us, so there is no question of a big celebration. We will simply thank the Lord for the gift of life and health,” Saira told Mid-Day.

Dilip’s two brothers Aslam and Ahsan Khan succumbed to Covid this year. Owing to two deaths in the family, the couple didn’t celebrate their wedding anniversary in October.

Sharing updates on Dilip’s health, the actress said, “Dilip sahab is fine. He has some health problems, which is often the case with the elderly. We are trying to cope the best we can.”
