Bollywood superstar Salman Khan‘s 2002 hit and run case hearing is likely to be heard on July 27, 2015. The Supreme Court will hear a plea by the mother of a deceased Mumbai police constable for the transfer of 2002 hit and run case from Mumbai to Delhi. The plea is also seeking cancellation of Salman Khan’s bail.
Recently a convict too had appealed against, Salman Khan’s plea seeking stay on his five-year sentence in the 2002 hit-and-run case. The high court had rejected the intervening appeal by the convict. Salman Khan’s sentence was suspended on May 08, and fresh bail was granted in cash of Rs 30,000 in lieu of surety as a temporary measure.
Salman Khan’s car had met with accident in Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one person and injuring four. On May 6 Salman Khan was found guilty and sentenced for five years jail, convicted under all charges including under Section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code (rash and negligent driving); 279 (rash driving); 337 (causing minor injuries); 338 (causing major injuries) 427 (negligence) in connection with the case.
