Watch: Salman Khan claims if he had hit Aishwarya, she wouldn’t have survived

The #MeToo Movement has finally taken its root in Bollywood all thanks to actress Tanushree Dutta who accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Soon, many other actresses opened up and accused some big names in the industry who are now facing the heat. In the midst of this wave, an old clip of Salman Khan talking about hitting his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai has re-surfaced.

In the video, a journalist is seen asking him if he ever hit a woman, referring to a public allegation Aishwarya had made against him. Salman replied, “Yeah, now that woman has said that I have. I mean there was a journalist Prabhu Chawla who asked me this a long time ago, so I just banged the table and he got startled, the table really broke.”

It is no secret that Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan were romantically involved with each other. But their relationship hit a rough patch and Aishwarya called it quits. In 2002, the former Miss World had opened up on how she had been physically assaulted by the ‘Dabangg’ Khan on multiple occasions.

In a throwback interview to TOI, Aishwarya said, “He would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected that I was having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. I would go to work as if nothing happened. That is why, like any other self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him.”
