Salman Khan, Harvey Weinstein

The well-known film producer in Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexual abuse by many of his fellow celebs. More than 80 women accused him of such acts, while he denied any form of non-consensual activity. This entire issue has opened a can of worms as everybody has been debating and discussing over sexual favours for work and casting couch being prevalent in the entertainment industry. And, not just Hollywood, casting couch has said to be prevalent in all film industries. So, as the issue continues to grab attention, actor Salman Khan was asked about the entire fiasco.

Speaking at the HT Leadership Summit, the actor said, “I hate the word Bollywood, so I use Hindi film industry. Nobody has ever come and confirmed it. I have been here for the longest time and my father has been here even more than I have been here. Till today, I have never heard someone come and say this straight out. As man and as woman, beautiful looking log hai, toh koi na koi flirt toh karega hi (they are beautiful looking people, so someone or the else would do it for sure). But, if a person goes by the principle that if you sleep with me only then will you get this job, then it’s the most disgusting thing ever.” (Also Read: Salman Khan THANKS Kangana for finally making him understand the word Nepotism)

When asked, if it happens in Hindi cinema, he replied, “I have not heard anything like this because if I ever hear something like this, then some lady or man comes and tells me that hamare saath yeh hua hai, I will take him down to the cleaners.”

He also spoke about the movie ‘Padmavati’, he said, “One, I don’t think it’s fair to hurt anyone’s sentiments, secondly, it is not fair that without seeing a film to comment on that. Now, the Censor Board will give a certificate and we will go by the certificate.” When asked as to does Sanjay Leela Bhansali have a track record of offending people’s sensibilities with his previous films. Salman quickly replied, “I don’t know about other people, but he definitely has offended me. I gave him two hit films and he took Shah Rukh Khan in the next one.”
