Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ has been embroiled in controversies since day one. Be it Shree Rajput Karni Sena workers beating the director for apparently ‘maligning’ the image of the revered queen, or them being adamant that he is showing a sequence between her and Alauddin Khilji, the fire seems to be growing more and more with each passing day. To add more fuel, some of the organisations are even saying that they would destroy the cinema halls who will showcase the movie. While the film fraternity and logical beings stand by Bhansali, who has time and again issued apologies and letters stating that he will not showcase anything which can be demeaning to the culture, it seems that his pleas are falling on deaf ears.
However, the biggest support now comes in the form of Salman Khan, who, in an exclusive interview with News18, spoke on the ‘Padmavati’ row, and stated that Bhansali being an immensely amazing director would never show anyone in a bad light, let alone culture, such is the beauty of his filmmaking. He also urged that people should let Censor Board (CBFC) take the ultimate course of action.

Salman has previously worked with Bhansali in three of latter’s ventures, namely, ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’, ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, and ‘Saawariya’. On work front, he will next be seen in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the trailer of which is already smashing records.
‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role, with Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.
