Salman Khan, who has an extended cameo in the upcoming Telugu film GodFather, attended an event of the film on Saturday. The actor spoke about the ongoing debate over Bollywood vs South films.
Salman, who shares a great bond with Chiranjeevi and his family, told him, “Your films are being accepted here but our films aren’t accepted there.” Chiranjeevi replied, “We are here to take you. This is one of the reasons why I asked Sallu Bhai to come through in this film.”

GodFather stars Chiranjeevi in the lead role along with Nayanthara. Salman has a cameo in the film. For the uninitiated, GodFather is a remake of the Malayalam hit film Lucifer, which featured Mohanlal in lead.
On Saturday, during the event, Chiranjeevi got emotional as he revealed Salman Khan turned down a big paycheque that was offered to him for his cameo in the film. Chiranjeevi said, “When my producers went to handover one cheque, a big cheque to him, and indirectly through their managers they said ‘Sallu Bhai ko boliya aisa dena hai’. The manager went inside and with the same speed he came out and said ‘Sir, please I don’t take this risk sir.’ He (Salman) said one word ‘They want to buy my love and affection towards Chiranjeevi and Ram (Charan) with this price? No. However they give I don’t care. I’m doing it with love and affection. We are really overwhelmed and who has that much of big heart other than Saman Khan. So, thank you so much.”
