Earlier, in an interview, actor Palak Tiwari revealed that Salman Khan had a rule for women on film sets. She revealed that he asked women not to wear low-neckline outfits on the sets of his movie. After this, his statement created momentum on social media. Now, in a recent interview on Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat, Salman Khan defended his statement. He revealed that a woman’s body is precious and he feels it better when they’re covered.
Salman Khan clarifies his statement:
When asked to speak about the statement, Salman said, ”There is no double standard in it. I feel that a woman’s body is a lot more precious. So, as much as it is covered, I feel it’s better.“He was asked if this rule was only applicable to girls, Salman said, “Ye ladkiyo ka chakkar nahi hai, ye ladko ka chakkar hai. Jis hisab se ladke ladkiyo ko dekhte hai, aapki behne, aapki biwiya, aapki mothers, wo mujhe acha nahi lagta. (It’s not a matter of girls, it’s about the boys. The way they look at girls, at your sister, wife or mother, I do not like it). So, I do not want them to go through this.”
Furthermore, the Sultan even revealed that men’s intentions go wrong sometimes. Hence, Salman added this rule to his film sets. “Sab jaante hai, par kabhi kabhi inki neeyat kharab ho jaati hai. To koshish hai ki hum jab picture banaye, to hum unko ye mauka na de ki ye aake humare heroines ko, humari auraton ko iss prakar se dekhe.” (Everyone knows it that sometimes their intentions go bad. When we make a film, we try not to give this chance to anyone that they come and look at our heroines, our women like this).
For the unversed, earlier, during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Palak Tiwari revealed that Salman implemented a rule for women’s safety. He asked the ladies to wear clothes with decent necklines and this created a stir on social media.
