Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty to unite for an action packed cop drama soon

For all Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty fans, there is a piece of good news as the duo are all set to unite for the first time ever. Notably, the ‘Dabangg’ actor and ‘Simmba’ director will collaborate for an action-packed cop-drama which is slated to go on \floors by the year-end. The film, which is untitled yet, will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, after wrapping up Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ and the third instalment of ‘Dabangg’, Salman Khan will start prepping up for Rohit Shetty’s cop drama by the end of the year. The film is slated to release in the second half of 2020.

The leading tabloid quoted source as saying, “Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to not just discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead but also on the content. Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh aka DEVIL from Kick, Sajid’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materializes as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit’s film.”

However, before moving to the project, Rohit Shetty will finish the shooting of ‘Sooryavanshi’ with Akshay Kumar. It is to be noted that the film will kick-start in June and wrap up by August in one start-to-finish schedule.

It is to be noted that Rohit Shetty’s last directorial film, ‘Simmba’ was a blockbuster at the box office. The film, which starred Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, has done a business of around Rs 150 crores. On the other hand, Salman Khan is currently shooting the last schedule of Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ starring Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover and Disha Patani in lead roles. Post ‘Bharat’, Salman will begin the shoot of ‘Dabangg 3’.
