Salman Khan’s Tiger won’t have cameo appearances in Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2? Here’s why

Salman Khan’s Avinash ‘Tiger’ Singh Rathore laid the foundation for the YRF Spy Universe by winning the hearts of millions in Ek Tha Tiger and its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai. Since then, the production house have released three more films in universe – War (starring Hrithik Roshan), Pathaan (starring Shah Rukh Khan) and Tiger 3. While Salman has been part of four out of the five films, a latest report suggest he is now taking a temporary break from cameo appearances in the universe.

As per a recent report, Khan’s Tiger will henceforth only appear in important junctures of the spy universe as YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra doesn’t want to over dilute his character with his recurring appearances. Scroll below to know more details.

Talking about Aditya Chopra wanting to rebuild Salman Khan’s Tiger in the YRF Spy Universe, a trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “Of the 5 films made in the Spy Universe to date, four have featured Tiger. The team at YRF feels that there is enough of Tiger and he should mark a return to the universe at the most crucial juncture now. Having random cameos in feature films will dilute the power of Tiger as a standalone character. He has discussed the larger plans for Tiger with Salman Khan and even he is on the same page.”

The insider further revealed there won’t be a cameo for Salman Khan’s Tiger in Hrithik Roshan-led War 2 and Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan 2. The source revealed Salman is tired of doing cameos and is wanting to do something substantial. They said, “Adi doesn’t want the cameos within the universe to be gimmicks and hence he will be carefully plotting the criss-crossing of all key characters in the timeline ahead.”

The YRF Spy Universe is gearing up to entertain the audiences with two action-thrillers, namely War 2 and Pathaan 2. According to reports, Ayan Mukerji will helm the Hrithik Roshan-led sequel. It will also star Jr NTR as the antagonist and Kiara Advani as its female lead. The film is reportedly already in the filming stage and is likely to release in 2025. Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan 2 will reportedly likely begin filming later this year.
