Salman Khan has provided a statement in the chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police regarding the shooting incident outside his residence, Galaxy Apartments, as reported by PTI. The actor believes the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is behind the attack, which occurred on April 14. Khan recounted hearing a firecracker-like sound while asleep, indicating an attempt on his and his family’s lives. His police bodyguard informed him around 4:55 am that two people on a motorbike had fired at the first-floor balcony of his residence. Salman mentioned that there had been previous attempts to harm him and his family, and his bodyguard lodged a complaint at the Bandra police station following the incident.
Salman Khan says Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang tried to kill him
Khan learned later that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother, Anmol Bishnoi, had confessed to the attack in a Facebook post. Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members had previously threatened to kill Salman and his relatives. In his statement, Salman said, “So, I believe that Lawrence Bishnoi, with the help of his gang members, carried out the firing incident when my family members were sleeping and [they were] planning to kill me and my family members.” He added that his family had received several threats over the years.
A threat letter was found on a bench across from Salman’s building in 2022. In March 2023, a threat email was received from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Salman also mentioned that in January 2024, two unidentified individuals attempted to enter his farmhouse near Panvel using fake identities.
Earlier this month, police filed a 1,735-page charge sheet in the case before the special court for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) cases. The court acknowledged the charge sheet, stating sufficient evidence to proceed against the six accused who had been arrested. Those arrested include Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (now deceased), Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh. Anujkumar allegedly committed suicide in police custody after his arrest, while the other five remain in judicial custody.
