In our film industry, the box-office success of any film decides its fate. At the end of the day, it is a business so recovering the invested money is of utmost priority for almost all the filmmakers and actors. However, there are some actors who don’t rely on box-office numbers. Instead, they are happy when a critic praises their film or their performance in a given project.
But our Bhaijaan Salman Khan‘s validation comes only from the film’s box office performance. The actor, in a recent media interaction, revealed that he judges a film’s success on the basis of its collection and not by what critics have to say about it.
“My validation comes from the box office collections – that the people have liked or not liked a film. It doesn’t make a difference if someone (a critic) has given it so many stars or ridiculed the film,” said the ‘Bharat’ actor.
When asked about his reaction when critics give good reviews to his films, Salman shared, “I get scared. That why did they give (those star ratings) because their thinking never matches with the audience. Then I wonder, ‘oh what if this doesn’t do well’. But the reason I do the kind of movies I do is because I loved the scripts.”
The actor wishes that his films make people forget their worries and enjoy their time in the theatre.“I want people to come inside the theatre and forget about their life. Enjoy the film. Take away the heroism or leave the theatre becoming a good person. These are the things I follow while doing a film,” he said. The actor is happy with the kind of response his latest release has been receiving.
Today, the actor even shared a post on Twitter thanking all the journalists who interviewed him during ‘Bharat’.
To all the journalists who have interviewed me during #Bharat … a big thank u to all…

Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Bharat’ opened to mostly good reviews from the audiences and critics alike. The film that released on Eid (June 5) has already minted more than Rs 160 crore at the box office. Interestingly, it is the biggest opening film of Salman’s career so far.
