Did Salman Khan take an indirect dig at Arnab Goswami by saying people should not ‘speak nonsense, lie and shout’ for TRPs?

On ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode Salman Khan had the perfect opportunity to take a dig at channels manipulating TRPs. Though Salman didn’t take anyone’s name, it was obvious that he was hinting at Arnab Goswami. Ostensibly speaking to the contestants, Salman said, “Bigg Boss ke andar ya kisi bhi show ke andar, you have to play the right game. Yeh nahi ki TRP ke liye kuch bhi khelo. Bahut achcha ja rahe ho tum log. From Day-1, I have never seen the response you are getting. To make it bigger and better, be honest and real. Not by ki yaar yeh bakwas kar raha hai, jhoot bol raha hai, chilla raha hai. Point yeh nahi hai. Woh aapke channel ko bandh kar denge.”

Salman said that he was “indirectly” putting his point across. He said, “What I wanted to say, I have said indirectly.”

For the unversed, some days back, Arnab Goswami had screamed on Republic TV how Salman Khan was not coming out with any comment over Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and on the drug allegations. He had also demanded Salman to speak and challenged the actor to face him on one of his primetime news debates. The video went viral all over social media where Arnab was asking where Salman is and why he is not speaking up.

Well, all this while the ‘Dabangg’ actor was not saying anything but through ‘Bigg Boss 14’, Salman got a chance to hit back perfectly.

Meanwhile, four Bollywood industry associations and 34 leading Bollywood producers had filed a civil suit before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court praying the court to direct Republic TV, Mr. Arnab Goswami and Mr. Pradeep Bhandari of Republic TV, Times Now, Mr. Rahul Shivshankar and Ms. Navika Kumar of Times Now, and unknown defendants as well as social media platforms to refrain from making or publishing irresponsible, derogatory and defamatory remarks against Bollywood. Among the production houses, Salman Khan Ventures is also part of the Plaintiffs.
