Salman Khan to collaborate with Raj Kumar Gupta for an action thriller?

Superstar Salman Khan may soon be collaborating with Raj Kumar Gupta of Aamir-fame for an original action thriller. A Pinkvilla report stated that the film will be based on “some incredible true events from the pages of Indian history.” Apparently, Gupta has written the script too, and Khan has “loved the world” created by the Raid director. “Gupta has been in conversations with [Salman] for a while now and things seem to have finally fallen in place.”

The source revealed the script is Gupta’s pet project, and he has been perfecting it throughout the lockdown period. “The story demands the presence of a superstar with a certain amount of aura, and there’s no one better than Salman to pull off this flamboyant character,” they said. The plot of the untitled project reportedly “marries content with action, drama and most importantly, thrills.”

It’s a film based on the life of an Indian spy, Ravindra Kaushik. He is famously known as Black Tiger and is regarded as India’s best spy ever. Rajkumar Gupta has been researching his life for the last 5 years and he has finally managed to lock a screenplay that does justice to the achievements and legacy of Ravindra Kaushik. It’s set in the era of 70s and 80s, and apart from researching on the life of Ravindra Kaushik, Gupta and his team have also done an extensive research to recreate that era,” the source added. Interestingly, back in 2012, the Kabir Khan directorial, Ek Tha Tiger with Salman, was rumoured to be based on Ravindra Kaushik’s life, however, it eventually turned out to be a fictional tale of an Indian spy. But it seems life has now come a full circle.

Rajkumar Gupta is known for films like Aamir, No One Killed Jessica, Ghanchakkar and Raid. Salman on the other hand will soon start shooting for Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif as Maharashtra has already begun easing COVID-19 restrictions. Then he will start with Sajid Nadiadwala’s film, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali by end of this year. He is also in conversations to bring the Tamil Hit, Master, in Hindi.

His last release was Radhe which released during Eid.
