Actor Malaika Arora and her family are mourning the demise of the actress’ father Anil Mehta who passed away on September 11. His last rites were held at Santacruz Crematorium yesterday where several close friends of Malaika and Amrita Arora. As soon as the news of Anil Mehta’s demise broke, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and other members of Khan family were snapped at her residence. Well, last night, Salman Khan was snapped at Malaika Arora’s house to offer condolences to her family.

Salman was seen entering the residence amid heavy security. The actor was escorted by his bodyguards as he entered the house to pay his respects. This is for the first time Salman has reunited with Malaika since her divorce from his younger brother, Arbaaz Khan, in 2017. For the visit, Salman was dressed in a casual navy-blue shirt paired with light blue distressed jeans and black shoes. He looked visibly serious as he walked alongside his security personnel.
For those unversed, Malaika Arora was married to Salman’s younger brother, Arbaaz Khan. But the two parted ways in 2017 and are now co-parenting son Arhaan. Arbaaz was the first to arrive at Malaika’s parents’ house on Wednesday, as she was out of town for work. Salman’s siblings Sohail and Arpita, parents Salim and Salma Khan, stepmother Helen, and sisters Alvira and Arpita were also spotted arriving at Malaika’s residence to pay their respects.
Malaika Arora shares an official statement post her father death
The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan Khan.”
Malaika’s dad Anil’s death came as a shock for everyone. While the tragic incident is still being investigated by the police, an officer from Bandra police earlier addressed the media. He shared, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide, but we are probing the incident from all angles. A process to file an accidental death report is on.”
