Salman Khan on shooting 'Sultan'

Salman Khan‘s latest offering this Eid in the form of his portrayal of wrestler Sultan Ali Khan in ‘Sultan‘ is making a very strong impact on viewers. This sports drama which many including Salman feel is the actor’s most challenging role so far, was certainly not easy for the ‘Dabangg’ star also when it came to shooting one of the most crucial sequences in Sultan’s second innings. Recently, Ali Abbas Zafar, director of ‘Sultan’ interacted with a leading daily where he revealed that Salman Khan took time and literally escaped to shoot that one scene for a couple of times.

This important scene was the one where Salman is seen sporting a pot belly look in front of the mirror. Talking about it Ali said, “That was the only scene he was scared of on paper because he is known for a certain body type. His picture can be found in almost every gym in India. He is the Bible of bodybuilding, but he understood the character and he knew that it was the most important scene in the film for him.”

“Till the time they see that character break down and crumble the audience won’t relate to him. Audience should feel that yeh Salman Khan hai, lekin yaar mujhe abhi toh Sultan dikh raha hai. There was only one take of that scene. I have shot it on two cameras. There is no cut in that scene. It’s a two minute single shot,” added the director.

Needless to say, the ones who have seen the movie were completely stunned to see the ‘Bajrangi’ star performing so well. That one crucial scene definitely brought many viewers back to theatres to see the motivating yet very touching performance of Salman Khan.

Hmmm, we must say that good things are worth a wait.
