Salman Khan’s ‘Being Filmi Productions’ to present award winning film

Superstar Salman Khan has launched his own production company called ‘Being Filmi Production’,  and they will be presenting their first award winning film ‘Filmistaan’ under their banner. Filmistaan   is  Nitin Kakkars film. This movie is a hot favourite on the Film Festive circuit and has won many an award there. A Special Jury Mention at the fest, and it won the film the Best Debut Director award at the International Film Festival of Kerala and at the Jaipur International Film Festival. Last year, the film won the National Award in the Hindi feature film category.

According to sources, Filmistaan was completely shot in Bikaner and premiered at the 17th Busan International Film Festival in October 2012. In fact,. “UTV has been in talks with the filmmakers since last year and they announced their collaboration in January this year. The talks are already on with Salman Khan’s production house but the deal is yet to be closed.”

The film tells the tale of an aspiring Indian actor who gets abducted and then meets a Pakistani national, who smuggles pirated Hindi movies. It attempts to strike a chord with the audience through humour.  Director Nitin Kakkar says, “We are in talks right now and most probably, Salman Khan’s Being Filmi and UTV will be presenting my film.”
