Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol which resulted in the death of 1 and several others being severely injured which later led to lifetime disability; all this in 2002. After 13 long years of legal proceedings which became popular as ‘Hit & Run Case’, in December 2015 the actor was acquitted of all charges. The fact that he was driving that day during the very incident couldn’t be established and his relief was made on this very ground.

However, this verdict by Bombay High Court gave rise to various controversies as well, including various loopholes being pointed out. The Maharashtra Government has already decided to move to the Supreme Court to appeal against Bombay High Court’s decision. The police has recently sent a circular to all police stations in Mumbai which mention 16 discrepancies found in Khan’s trial.

One such example of the discrepancies according the circular is as follows: ““The actor was available from the morning of September 28, 2002, for medical test at the Bandra police station, but he was only taken to JJ Hospital in the afternoon for blood sample collection.”

Although, it has been clarified that the circular doesn’t intend to raise questions against the Court’s verdict but it is for information of the police so that they avoid any such goof-ups in future.
