Salman Khan‘s recently released film ‘Sultan’ has broken several records at the box-office, but no one had ever imagined that this would get Mr. Bhaijaan a 1000 crore deal. Yes; a 1000 crore deal with a television channel for his next 10 releases including ‘Tubelight’ and Rajkumar Santoshi’s untitled film!
According to the latest reports, Salman has signed a deal with a leading television channel and has sold the satellite rights for his next 10 release for a whopping 1000 crore. This contract also includes his appearance on the channel. A trade source was quoted saying, “Today, stars are raking in the moolah by signing multi-crore deals with channels willing to pay the price. While Ajay Devgn had signed a deal of `400 crore for 10 films with the same channel, at the time, Salman had signed the same for `500 crore starting with Bodyguard – so he was getting paid `50 crore per film then. Varun Dhawan recently inked a deal with a channel where he gets paid `300 crore for 10 films of his. But with Salman’s past few releases all being blockbusters – ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, for example – channels are willing to pay him triple the amount to air his films and have his presence grace their shows – be it reality shows or sports-based programmes. He recently re-negotiated his earlier contract with the same channel.”
Just like you, even our jaws dropped when we came across this news. 1000 crore is a huge amount, but again, it is for our Dabangg Khan. Hence, it’s worth it!
