Vicky Kaushal is all set to don the army uniform for the third time in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur. The movie is a biographical drama based on the life of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. The trailer and Vicky’s transformation have undoubtedly left us amazed. Sam Bahadur is all set to release on 1st December. Vicky Kaushal starter has a duration of 2 hrs 30 mins and is ‘U/A’ certified. On the same day, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is hitting the theatres. Vicky earlier donned the uniform of the Indian army in URI: The Surgical Strike (2019) and Raazi (2018). The movies proved to be a turning point in his career. While URI earned Rs 245.36 cr, Raazi minted Rs 123.84 crores. Talking about Sam Bahadur, the movie has garnered a good response by selling 12,876 tickets as per advance booking reports, amassing a collection of Rs 44.71 lakhs prior to its release.

Wide target audience

Sam Bahadur is UA certified so the film can easily appeal to the family audience. It also caters to urban audiences and will fare well at multiplexes (national chains) where ticket rates are a bit higher as compared to single screens. Another factor that the movie may appeal audience is the crisp runtime of 2 hrs 30 mins. Whereas, Animal is ‘A’ certified and has a duration of 3 hours 21 minutes.

Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur is releasing alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal on 1st December. After this, major releases include Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and Prabhas starrer Salaar which is hitting the theatres in 22nd December. This means that the movie has scope to sustain well at the ticket windows for three weeks.
