Sanjay Dutt pens an emotional note on 15 years of ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ release

Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt is not everyone’s cup of tea. The ‘Vaastav’ actor is controversy’s favourite child and has often had run-ins with the law enforcement agencies. But, he is also a very fine actor and is still going strong in the industry.

‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, remember this film? Yeah, it was the film that gave a second wind to Sanjay Dutt’s career. Today, this iconic and cult film has completed 15 years since its release. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial was a satirical take on India’s education system and how it messes up an individual and his standing in the society.

The film dealt with serious topics in a funny way and the chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi made the film what it is. Sanjay Dutt took to his Instagram account and shared a very heartfelt and emotional post regarding ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’.

In 2006, Hirani made a sequel to the film titled ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, which was an even bigger hit and with the same cast members. Sanjay Dutt has often said that the ‘Munna Bhai’ franchise resurrected his career and this film is very dear to his heart.

Even after 15 years, ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ still remains one of the best films of this century and it gave the Hindi Film industry a gem in Rajkumar Hirani. Incidentally, Shah Rukh Khan was offered the main protagonist’s role and after his refusal, it went to Sanju. And the rest, they say is history.
