Here is why Sanjay Dutt’s oldest friend, Sanjay Gupta isn’t a part of his biopic

Sanjay Dutt’s biopic has been in news since a while now, with Ranbir Kapoor playing the actor in the film.

While the Rajkumar Hirani film will cover every aspect of the actor’s life, it will leave out one important one, The biopic will not have any mention of Sanjay Dutt’s oldest buddy, Sanjay Gupta anywhere, despite knowing the star for over two decades.

Dutt and Gupta even have a production company together.

A source reveals the reason for the same stating, “Maybe Gupta doesn’t feature in the film because he has been against the Dutt biopic from the beginning. The director believes that it’s too early for a film on Dutt to be made.”

Another source adds, “Their friendship hit a rough patch in 2007, but they made up five years later. While the two are yet to announce their next film, their friendship remains strong as ever. Though it’s a bit weird that one of Baba’s oldest friends has been left out of the biopic.”

One of Sanjay Gupta’s friend confirms the same saying, “Gupta does not mind that he’s been left out from the biopic. He firmly believes that making a biopic on Dutt now is like writing off the star’s career too soon; almost like an obituary to his profession. Sanju has a great many years left in him and it will be sad for fans to miss out on that.”

Apart from Ranbir, it is being said that Sonam Kapoor will have a special role in the movie.
