Bollywood actor-director Sanjay Khan after launching his autobiography, ‘The Best Mistakes of My Life’ last year, is all set announce his next book on the occasion of his birthday. The book’s name will be ‘Assalwaliakum Watan’. Notably, Sanjay Khan turned 78-year-old today.
Talking to mid-day, Sanjay Khan said that the book ‘Assalwaliakum Watan’ is written to empower Muslim youth across India. He also said that the title of the book has been in his mind since last five years. The book is based on more than 200 million Muslims, who are seeking education and good jobs in India.
Sanjay Khan has issued a statement which reads, “I don’t really celebrate my birthday each year, but this year it’s an exception. I’m really glad with the success that my book The Best Mistakes of My Life has garnered and I’m now planning to announce my second book Assalwaliakum Watan, on my birthday.”
According to the report, in the first nine chapters, Sanjay will only talk about the history of India to pull out instances that have been defining for the Muslim community. “It commences with a brief history of India and highlights major contributions made by the [people]. It stresses [how] Muslims [have been] defined as a minority community, according to the Constitution of India.” Khan said.
Sanjay has worked more than 50 movies including ‘Dus Lakh’, ‘Ek Phool Do Mali’, ‘Intaqam’, ‘Dhund’, ‘Mela (1971)’ and many others. He also co-starred with his elder brother Feroz Khan in many movies like ‘Upaasna (1971)’, ‘Mela (1971)’ and ‘Nagin (1976)’.
He is popularly known for his TV show ‘The Sword of Tipu Sultan.
