If the latest reports are anything to go by, then apparently Sanjay Leela Bhansali is considering releasing his Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi on digital platforms. It is said that Sanjay was not tempted by the offers that he is given, but the current Covid-19 situation seems to have changed his mind. While Gangubai Kathiawadi was always meant for a theatrical release, there are not many options left now.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source said, “Very soon there may not be any other option left for Bhansali. He is now seriously thinking of going digital with Gangubai Kathiawadi, the 30th July theatrical release now seeming next to impossible.”

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will be reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 22 years for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Sharing the news on their Instagram handle, Bhansali Productions announced, “We are happy to have @ajaydevgn join the team of #GangubaiKathiawadi.”
Meanwhile, Alia and Sanjay both recently tested negative for Covid-19. The filming of the movie was stalled due to the Covid restrictions and precautions. The movie has hit a lot of roadblocks over the years and now questions surrounding its theatrical release has added to it.
