Sanjay Leela Bhansali announces first music album Sukoon, to be out on THIS date

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the iconic names of Bollywood who has given us movies like Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bajirao Mastani, Gangubai Kathiwadi and more. His movies are known not only for their complex characters but also for the colourful sets, and epic heart-touching storylines.

Not many know that Bhansali is also an accomplished music-composer and it is quite evident from the songs of his movies that go on to be chartbusters. The filmmaker is now all set to rule the music world. Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced on Monday that his first original album titled Sukoon will be released on December 7 on all music streaming platforms

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter:

Speaking about his first attempt at original, non-film music, Sanjay said in a statement, “Two years in the making amidst the difficult times of covid, I found peace, quiet, and love while creating “SUKOON”. I hope you find the same while listening.”

Sukoon means peace and it will bring together singers like Rashid Khan, Shreya Ghoshal, Armaan Malik, Papon, Pratibha Baghel, Shail Hada, and Madhubanti Bagchi among others. It will consist of nine melodious tracks and will be available on the Saregama YouTube channel and all leading streaming apps.

Reportedly Sanjay Leela Bhansali has incorporated musical instruments like the tablas, flute, guitars, sarangi, sitars and harmonium into the soundtrack.

On the work front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was recently in London over the weekend speaking about Gangubai Kathiawadi at a BAFTA Masterclass. It is a part of an awards campaign for the prestigious British film awards trophy. The filmmaker is currently working on his Netflix series, a period drama titled Heeramandi.
