Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants Lata Mangeshkar to sing in ‘Padmavati’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a huge Lata Mangeshkar fan, and that is known to all. The filmmaker has often said the same in his media interactions. HE has even cited the example of the veteran singer to all the singing artists in his movies, so they get the right emotional quotient in their songs.

Recent reports suggest that the director is looking to rope in the Nightingale for a particular song in his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’. A source close to the director says, “It is SLB’s dream to make Lataji sing a song in his film. But Lataji has not yet replied to his request.” We also hear that SLB has been trying to get the veteran singer to sing in his movies for a long time now, but she never gave a nod due to some reason.

We will now have to wait and watch to see whether the director’s dream comes true or not.

The music recording of the film already started last month. Nagpur based Shreyas Puranik will be composing music for the film.

Apart from Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the film is also said to have Shahid Kapoor playing Deepika’s husband.
