At the beginning of the year 2018, we saw how certain communities demanded a boycott of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavaat’ even before watching the film. Viewers are offended about anything and everything, so these days people protesting against soon-to-be-released films over various issues has become a new trend.

The latest film against which a complaint has been filed is none other than power-house performer Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Sanju’. Activist Prithvi Mhaske, raising an objection regarding the toilet leaked scene in the ‘Sanju’ trailer, has filed a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to a report in The Indian Express, Mhaske’s letter to CBFC stated, “In the trailer of the movie we have seen a scene that Sanjay Dutt was in such a barrack of a jail in which the toilet overflowed. As per the information available, the government and jail authorities are taking very well care of all the barracks of the jails. We never heard any such incidents anywhere. Earlier as well many movies were released based on the gangsters wherein the jails were covered but never had seen such incidents. This particular scene will make a bad impression about the jails and jails authorities of the Indians (sic)”

The letter concluded, “If there is no action about the same by you then we are left with no option to approach the honourable court to put stay on the release of the movie (sic).”

We wonder what the CBFC has to say about this complaint. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’ also stars Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. ‘Sanju’ is slated to release on June 29.
