Sara Ali Khan made a smashing entry in Bollywood with the impactful role of Mukku in Abhishek Kapoor’s 2018 release, Kedarnath. Just a few days later, she gave her biggest commercial success to date with Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. However, after that, she dealt with a slump as her films didn’t perform well commercially and they got critical flak too. When the world had already sidelined her, came Atrangi Re last year that changed everything for Sara Ali Khan.

Directed by Aanand L Rai and also featuring Dhanush and Akshay Kumar, the film gave back the belief to audience and well as the sceptics, in Sara’s acting skills. And today since it’s Aanand L Rai’s birthday, the actress had the sweetest wish for him.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Sara shared a collage of four pictures of her with the ace filmmaker. One can easily notice the admiration the actress has for Aanand, just through her eyes. Along with the collage, she wrote, “@aanandlrai sir!! Love you so so much. Thank you for being you (sic)”.
The intensity and spark with which Sara is listening to Aanand in the third picture just reflect how much the director’s words and wisdom mean to her.
During the release of Atrangi Re, Sara had went on to credit the director for bringing out Rinku in her, and the role indeed put her on the map and established her acting skills. Next up, Sara has Laxman Utekar’s upcoming directorial with Vicky Kaushal. Whereas Aanand is gearing up for the release of his next, Raksha Bandhan in August that features Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead. Here’s wishing the visionary Aanand a very happy birthday!
