CONFIRMED: Sara Ali Khan to romance Kartik Aaryan in Imtiaz Ali’s next love story

The rumours of Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan to feature in Imtiaz Ali’s next directorial has been confirmed. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sara, who had earlier expressed her wish to go out on a date with Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan, will be seen romancing him in an untitled love story. Imtiaz Ali is all set to kick off this film from next week.

Confirming the news of being cast along with Sara in Imtiaz’s film, the ‘Luka Chuppi’ actor said, “Yes, I am doing Imtiaz Sir next film- he is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening.”

Apart from Sara and Kartik, Randeep Hooda has also been roped in the film. It is to be noted that it would be Hooda’s second reunion with ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ director after his 2014 film ‘Highway’.

A source told the publication, “Kartik, Sara and Randeep Hooda have been doing readings for a while now and the film is ready to go on the floors. Unlike Imtiaz’s previous two films—- ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and ‘Tamasha’, which were set in foreign locales, this one largely unravels in Punjab and Delhi.”

The film is touted to be follow up to Imtiaz Ali’s 2009 romantic comedy-drama, which starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead role. There were reports also doing the rounds that Saif would be playing the role of an elder man. Refuting the news, ‘Cocktail’ actor had earlier said, “Imtiaz is making Love Aaj Kal 2, I’m happy to sell my stake and not be a part of the film. It’s a business deal.” 

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan’s latest film ‘Luka Chuppi’ has been released today across the country, which also stars Kriti Sanon.
