Koffee With Karan 7: Sara Ali Khan opens up on Love Aaj Kal failure, says, ‘It was a Valentine’s Day slap on my face’

Sara Ali Khan is currently one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. She made her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The diva then appeared in movies like Simmba followed by Love Aaj Kal, and then Atrangi Re. On July 14, Sara graced the second episode of Koffee With Karan 7 along with Janhvi Kapoor. The Bollywood besties opened up about their work life, exes, love stories and a lot more. Sara also opened up about Love Aaj Kal’s failure and how it affected her.

She said, “Kedarnath and Simmba released in the same month, December 2018. I think I was given much more love and adulation than I deserved and was put up on the pedestal I thought I couldn’t have lived up to. But suddenly, one Friday, on February 14, that (Love Aaj Kal) was a Happy Valentine’s Day slap on my face.” She added, “Reviews that were coming out were not good, it didn’t do well at the box office. It was a jolt because of what happened after Kedarnath and Simmba.”

Love Aaj Kal also starred Kartik Aaryan opposite Sara. It was directed by Imtiaz Ali.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan will be seen in Gaslight with Vikrant Massey. She also has an untitled film with Vicky Kaushal.
