Sara Ali Khan is all set to touch our patriotic hearts with her portrayal of unsung freedom fighter Usha Mehta in the historical biographical drama film Ae Watan Mere Watan. Directed by Kannan Iyer, the film sees Sara play a brave college-going girl who transforms into a freedom fighter during the Quit India movement in 1942.
With less than 24 hours left until it premiers exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, the makers, Dharmatic Entertainment, have unveiled a new promo. This clip is sure to inspire you as Sara’s character takes on the British.
Captioned, “A thriller drama inspired by true events, the film chronicles a college girl’s transformation into a fearless freedom fighter amidst the tumult of the Quit India Movement in 1942,” the new Ae Watan Mere Watan promo features a few unseen stills.
The 1-minute-long video shows Sara Ali Khan’s Usha Mehta determined to fight the British by airing speeches and sharing news and updates on the underground radio she started in Mumbai. The clip includes thrilling scenes inspired by true events that took place during the Quit India movement in 1942.

Directed by Kannan Iyer, the historical biographical drama stars Sara Ali Khan as Usha Mehta. Usha was a brave college girl-turned-freedom fighter who started the underground radio during the Quit India movement in 1942. The historical biographical drama also stars Anand Tiwari, Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Nell, Benedict Garrett and Emraan Hashmi.
