Sara Ali Khan not part of ‘Jawani Janeman’; makers scouting for a new face

Earlier there was a buzz that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan will be seen alongside Saif in ‘Jawani Janeman’ helmed by National Award winning director Nitin Kakkar. But Saif who is also producing the movie along with Jay Shewakramani has previously rubbished all the rumours of teaming up with his daughter.

Now, producer Jay Shewakramani confirmed Mid-Day that Sara is not part of the movie. He said that casting director Shruti Mahajan is auditioning new faces for the upcoming movie and they will finalise the female lead in the next two months.  “Besides conducting nationwide screen tests, Shruti has reached out to agents in the UK and the US as well,” added Jay.

Saif is not only co-producing this movie, but he is also playing the lead role in it. ‘Jawani Janeman’ goes on floors in 2019. It is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and his relationship with his daughter. ‘Happy Ending’ (2014) was Saif’s last movie as a producer. Now, after a gap of four years, the actor is back as a producer with this flick.

Though we would have loved to watch Sara and Saif together on the silver screen but it looks like we will have to wait a little longer.

Besides this movie, Saif will also be seen in Navdeep Singh’s ‘Hunter’ and will soon start shooting for ‘Sacred Games’ Season 2.
