Earlier this year, we saw Akshay Kumar playing the lead role in the historical period drama ‘Kesari’. Randeep Hooda too was gearing up to play the same character, however, his film got shelved. But obviously the character still remains close to Hooda’s heart.
‘Kesari’ was based on the Battle of Saragarhi that was fought on September 12. Today on the occasion of Saragarhi Day, both Akshay and Randeep took to their social media handles to pay tribute to the brave hearts.
Akshay took to the micro-blogging site and wrote, “My tributes to the brave hearts of the 36th Sikh Regiment, 21 Against 10,000…a sacrifice which will forever be etched in the pages of history and our hearts.”
