Sarika Singh has played a few small roles in movies like ‘Ok Jaanu’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’. In ‘Kaamyaab’, she has played the first primary character of her career. Sarika is playing Bhavna, Sanjay Mishra’s on-screen daughter. Bhavna is a sorted girl and really cares for her father (Sanjay Mishra) but she doesn’t like her father being a side actor.
On working with Sanjay Mishra, Sarika said, “As a co-star, he is an amazing person. Sanjay ji and Hardik (Mehta) have a lot of contribution in making Bhavna’s character. They have seen life and struggles and it became an effortless journey for me. He was very supportive. One story of him moved me when he said, ‘Jab ‘Ankhon Dekhi’ aayi, tab mujhe laga ki main mar bhi jayu, ye jo role hain, bacchon ko lagega ki baap kuch kar ke gaya’.”
Sarika also said that Shah Rukh Khan backing ‘Kaamyaab’ has helped the movie a lot. “This is show business and a big name is really important. There are many commercial films that had made good numbers but those movies had no content. But people still go and watch those movies. This is the mentality of the audience. It will take time but one day the audience will understand. It is because of Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Kaamyaab’ is reaching more screens and audiences.”

Though Sarika has played small roles in movies earlier, she doesn’t regret doing those. She said that her struggle was always to make a mark and get the right role through the right audition. She wants to do a meaningful role that leaves a mark.
On the work front, Sarika will be seen in ‘Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi’ that has Vikrant Massey and Naseeruddin Shah among others. It will be directed by Seema Pahwa.
