Say What! Ankita Lokhande to play the lead role in Vivek Oberoi’s Iti?

Ankita Lokhande made her way into the viewer’s heart by playing Archana in Pavitra Rishta. Post that there was no looking back. Ankita also ventured into Bollywood and featured in films like Manikarnika and Baaghi 3. And if the latest reports are anything to go by then very soon the gorgeous actress will be seen in her third film.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Ankita has been finalised to play the lead role in Prerna Arora and Vivek Oberoi’s whodunit thriller Iti. Read on to know the details.

We have seen Ankita playing girl-next-door in her TV shows and a fierce warrior in her debut film, Manikarnika. Now for the first time, we will get to see the actress star in a murder mystery. Speaking about Ankita’s role in the film, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “Ankita will play the main role in Iti, the murder mystery that Prenaa Arora had announced last year. The film is about a girl who has to solve her own murder.”

“When the makers were scouting for a good performer, they spoke to Ankita who also loved the role. She has already agreed to be part of the film and the shooting was supposed to begin this month in Shimla. But, the Covid second wave has now delayed plans now,” the source added further.

However, with no official announcement from the makers of Iti or Ankita herself, all we can do now is wait and watch.

Coming back to Iti, apart from producing the film, Vivek Oberoi will also play a pivotal role in it. The whodunit thriller also stars Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen. Helmed by Vishal Mishra, the film is co-produced by Girish Johar, Kussum Arora, Reshabh D Saraf and Keyur Pandya.
