Karan Johar is known to be a shrewd businessman. He banks on successful films and barring ‘Kalank’, most of his recent releases have been money spinners. Now, after the success of ‘Kabir Singh’ (which was based on ‘Arjun Reddy’), Karan has acquired the rights of Telugu film ‘Dear Comrade’. Yes, you read it right!
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news.

Speaking about Karan Johar, the filmmaker was apologetic about his last film ‘Kalank’. He is also looking forward to his next directorial – ‘Takht’. The multi-starrer film will see some big names like Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Let’s hope that Karan is able to deliver a crowd pleaser with that film.
Coming back to ‘Dear Comrade’, the cast (the Telugu version had Vijay Deverakonda) has not been decided yet. Perhaps, Karan Johar can go the ‘Kabir Singh’ way and Shahid Kapoor in this remake too. That would be quite a coup.
