‘Secret Superstar’ is a family film and has a much wider scope, says Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan Productions’ forthcoming flick ‘Secret Superstar’ portrays the story of a teenage girl who aspires to become a singer but faces many hardships on her way to fulfilling her dream. Aamir Khan who is also acting in the movie recently said, “I think as creative people we can make more films for children. We make very less films for the kids, also for the teenagers and we should make more films for this age group. And this is one film that is for youngsters, age group between 12 and 18. But it isn’t restricted to that particular age group. This is a family film, even small kids will like it and even older people will enjoy it. I think it’s a family film and has a much wider scope.”

‘Dangal’ actress Zaira Wasim portrays the character of Insia, a teenager who aspires to become a singer but unfortunately, her strict father doesn’t approve of her aspirations. However, in spite of serious disapproval from her father, she decides to follow her dreams and creates a YouTube channel. She posts videos of her singing talent but the unusual part is that she conceals her identity by wearing a burkha and keeps the name of her channel as ‘Secret Superstar’. Directed by Advait Chauhan, ‘Secret Superstar’ also stars Meher Vij and Raj Arjun. The movie is all set to release in Diwali this year.
