‘Secret Superstar’ poster depicts a young girl chasing her dreams secretly

Every year, the audience waits with bated breath for Aamir Khan’s movie which is usually a Christmas delight. However, this time the actor is coming up with his next movie during Diwali. We are talking about ‘Secret Superstar’ that has just a special appearance by Aamir Khan. His co-star from ‘Dangal’, Zaira Wasim who had played the younger version of Geeta Phogat impeccably in the biopic, will be seen essaying the main role in ‘Secret Superstar’. After releasing the teaser last year in December, the makers have unveiled the first poster of the movie. The poster has a tagline “Dream dekhna toh basic hota hai”. We see Zaira Wasim’s character walking on a bridge in a school uniform with a backpack, on the streets and we see the backdrop of musical notes all around her. See the picture here:

Quite interesting, isn’t it? Also, the poster reveals that the trailer will be out on August 2, 2017 and the movie is slated to release during Diwali this year. ‘Secret Superstar’ is helmed by debutant Advait Chandan, produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla.

The story revolves around a 14-year-old girl named Insia (played by Zaira Wasim) who dreams of becoming a singer, but her father strongly opposes it, given she belongs to a conservative family of Kashmir where the mere idea of a girl uncovering herself and playing music in a band, is abhorrent. Facing dejection from family, she then decides to create a YouTube channel and shares a video wearing a burkha, hiding her identity and naming the channel as ‘Secret Superstar’ so that nobody knows who she really is, yet acknowledges her talent.
