Service Tax Department pay a visit to Govinda, interrogate him for over six hours

Looks like Govinda is going through a not so lucky phase as his problems do not seem to end. After so many years, Govinda made his comeback as a lead in his film ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ and what a disaster it turned out to be! The film received horrible reviews from the critics and it tanked at the box office too. Now, Govinda is facing a yet another problem. The Service Tax Department has pulled up the star for tax evasion.

As per reports, the Service Tax Department authorities paid a visit to his residence to question him over the tax evasion he has apparently carried out over five years. The evaded amount is said to be approximately Rs 60 lakh. Apparently, the Service Tax Department had sent a summon to Govinda and had ordered him to appear before the tax department. But as he failed to do so, the authorities reached his residence to interrogate him.

Further reports state that Govinda was not available at his residence and then, the Service tax Department reached his office to interrogate him. Apparently, the authorities questioned him for over six hours and then recorded his statement.

In past three years, Govinda has done a few commercials and been a part of films. Apart from his fees, Govinda has charged service tax too for his commitment. Now, this service tax has to be paid to the government and Govinda has failed to do so.

The Service Tax Department has asked Govinda to pay the outstanding tax in the next few weeks failing which, he will have to face legal action. Reports also claim that Govinda is currently not in the state to pay money to the tax department. Let’s wait for another update on the same.
