Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don series had broken many records at the box-office and left fans eager for its third instalment. But recent reports revealed that SRK had rejected Farhan Akhtar’s script and the filmmaker was back to the writing table. Now, details about the script, narrated to the superstar, have come is out. Farhan Akhtar planned to cast Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Ranveer Singh together for Don 3.
As reported by sources to Bollywood Hungama, “Farhan had an ambitious idea of getting Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan together in the third instalment. Interestingly, Bachchan Saab was the lead in the original Don (1978). It had a different ending and showed the good-natured Vijay surviving and Don dying, while SRK’s version showed vice versa. Hence, it’s not clear whether or not Big B was supposed to play the role in the original version. However, Farhan definitely had thought of casting Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3.”

Sources added, “ As per Farhan’s plot, Don 3 was also supposed to have a cameo by Ranveer Singh. He too was going to play Don. The idea was that SRK’s Don character would pass the baton to Ranveer’s Don character so that he can take on the iconic role in future parts.”
Don 3 is one of the most awaited films of all time and if Shah Rukh Khan is joined by Amitabh Bachchan and Ranveer Singh, it would have garnered a record-breaking opening.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki in his kitty. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Uunchai, whereas Ranveer Singh has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in his kitty.
