Shah Rukh Khan was celebrated at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, receiving the Pardo Alla Carriera award, recognizing his immense contributions to the world of cinema. The event, held in the stunning Piazza Grande, saw an 8000-strong crowd gather to witness the actor’s acceptance speech. After receiving the award, the actor indulged in a heartfelt conversation with the jury where Shah Rukh Khan confirmed he is doing King. He also shares why he chose such a project.
Shah Rukh Khan CONFIRMS King
Shah Rukh Khan, after a gap of over four years, returned on screen with Pathaan and Jawan last year. Explaining how he does action, the actor cited King and said, “The next film I’m doing, King, I have to start working on it. Have to lose some weight and stretch a little so my groin doesn’t get caught while I am doing action. Its very painful and hurtful. I have two bag full of icing machines. It’s the worst thing to see me on set after action. I look really cool in the film, but after that I look tied up, somebody is pressing my back. It’s difficult to walk and then suddenly you see people and send them flying kisses.”
Shah Rukh Khan has officially announced his next film, KING with Sujoy Ghosh, an action-packed blockbuster. This is the biggest news of the day & we can't keep calm 👑🔥#King #ShahRukhKhan #Locarno77 pic.twitter.com/YrE9dACJPq

Speaking about performing the action sequences, he explained, “Action is difficult, you have to practice it learn it and there are doubles doing some of the dangerous stunts. I have some wonderful guys. But 80 percent you have to finally do it yourself if you have to sell it truthfully. Otherwise, it doesn’t look right.”
Talking of why he decided to take up King and how it came his way, SRK shares, “I finished Jawan and Dunki last year. Now, there’s a certain kind of film I want to do. Maybe its more age-centric and its something I have been trying for over 7 years. One day, I mentioned it to Sujoy Ghosh in my office. He said, ‘sir, I have a subject.’”
Shah Rukh Khan shared that he told Sujoy about his desire to work in a specific genre, and Sujoy responded with a fitting subject. That’s how SRK chooses his films. This could be the unofficial announcement we've all been eagerly waiting for! 🔥♥️#ShahRukhKhan #Locarno77 pic.twitter.com/j0Zpy5zzul
