After actor Salman Khan made the headlines owing to death threats from the Bishnoi community, Shah Rukh Khan was in the news for receiving similar threats from a man in Chhattisgarh. Now, as per the latest reports, the accused has been arrested by the Mumbai police and is being bought to the Maharashtra city for questioning. Scroll below to know the details.
Chhattisgarh lawyer arrested for sending Shah Rukh Khan death threat
As reported by NDTV, Mohammad Faizan Khan – a lawyer by profession, was arrested by the Mumbai Police after he failed to appear before them for questioning. Sources revealed that a Mumbai Police team has gone to Raipur to investigate the case.
For the unversed, the Mumbai Police revealed that a man called them last week and threatened to kill Shah Rukh Khan. The threat-giver claimed he was standing outside of Mannat, SRK’s home at the time of making the call. As per the police, the caller said, “I am calling Shah Rukh Khan from Mannat Bandstand. If he doesn’t give me Rs 50 lakh, I will kill him.” When asked about his motive, the caller said, “It doesn’t matter, if you want to mention, you can write my name as Hindustani.”
When news of the threat made the headlines, Faizan claimed he lost the phone that was used to make the death threat call. Sources also revealed that Bandra police station received a call threatening actor Shah Rukh Khan and asked for Rs 50 lakh. Soon after the call, Mumbai Police registered a case was registered against an unidentified person at Bandra Police Station in Mumbai for allegedly giving a threat to actor Shah Rukh Khan. Offence u/s 308(4), 351(3)(4) BNS registered.
Shah Rukh Khan is yet to publically respond to this death threat.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s high-octane action thriller King. The film reportedly also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma.
