Shah Rukh Khan has a special message as Dubai Boulevard got shut down for the FIRST time for Pathaan

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has become a monster in its popularity as well as box office collections ever since its release. The film is breaking every record out there with each day. It has been mounted on a huge scale which included the infamous fight sequence between SRK and John Abraham in Dubai. Now, Yash Raj Films has released a video of the making of that exciting sequence.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan shuts down Dubai Boulevard

The SRK and John fight sequence in Pathaan saw the two superstars battling it out over a moving truck. While the scene looked magnanimous on screen, the making of it just makes it feel all the more grand. Yash Raj Films released a video of it recently on their social media. It shows how the Dubai Boulevard was shut down for the first time ever, just for that sequence.

Siddharth Anand recalls his toughest action sequence in Pathaan

Talking about the sequence, director Siddharth Anand said, “The toughest action to execute in Pathaan – one is on top of a moving train, one is mid-air with planes, one is in Dubai which takes place in the boulevard around the Burj Khalifa which no Hollywood film has been able to do this. To shoot this sequence in Dubai, it just looked impossible. But the Dubai police and the authorities made it happen for us!”

The director added, “My friends, who live at the Boulevard, came and told me that they got circulars saying on this day between this time, you will not be able to access the boulevard so please plan your days. And they were amazed that – oh my god… that’s for my film! I said I can’t believe it and this wouldn’t have been possible if they had not agreed to our vision and supported us wholeheartedly. So I want to thank the Dubai police and the authorities in Dubai.”

SRK gives a special message for Dubai

The Badshah, who is the brand ambassador for Dubai tourism, had a special message for the city. He said, “”Dubai has been very, very kind to me and everyone who goes from Indian cinema. It is a heavy-traffic place so the production team called up and said, ‘we’re shooting a sequence with Shah Rukh’. So they said, ‘he is our brand ambassador, please take this permission. Finish it off fast, but we will allow you to shoot there.’ I think Dubai is film-industry-wise, the most international film-producing nation. You have the best equipment, facilities, location managers. So the experience is always wonderful to shoot in Dubai.”

Pathaan has been enjoying great success worldwide. It has crossed Rs 850 crores at the global box office. In the Hindi belt, it has crossed Rs 430 crores at the ticket counters. Pathaan even received rave reviews on its release. It remains to be seen now how soon the film starring SRK, Deepika Padukone and John will breach the worldwide collection of Rs 1000 crores.
