In Ahmedabad, the inaugural IPL qualifier match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) unfolded at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. Shah Rukh Khan, the renowned Bollywood actor and owner of KKR, was present in the city to cheer on his team. However, his visit took an unexpected turn when he experienced health issues, necessitating a visit to KD Hospital during the afternoon. Fortunately, after receiving prompt medical attention, he was discharged following initial treatment.
Shah Rukh Khan hospitalised due to heat stroke
Shah Rukh Khan had been in Ahmedabad for the past couple of days, actively supporting his team. Following KKR’s match the previous day, he returned to the ITC Narmada Hotel late at night. Unfortunately, his health took a downturn the next morning, leading to his hospitalisation due to dehydration. After undergoing treatment at KD Hospital, he was able to return to the hotel by around 1 pm. While his condition has since stabilised, he opted to extend his stay in Ahmedabad for some much-needed rest instead of immediately returning to Mumbai.
The weather conditions in Gujarat have been notably harsh, with several districts experiencing temperatures exceeding 45°C over the past 24 hours. Ahmedabad itself recorded a scorching maximum temperature of 45°C today. In response to the intense heatwave, the Meteorological Department issued a red alert for the city. It also cautioned the residents to brace for soaring temperatures expected to peak at 46 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
In summary, Shah Rukh Khan’s brief health scare amidst the IPL excitement in Ahmedabad highlights the importance of staying hydrated. It’s mandatory to take necessary precautions during extreme weather conditions, such as the prevailing heatwave gripping parts of Gujarat.
