9 years of Shah Rukh Khan on Twitter: Here’s his first tweet

There are many celebs in Bollywood who keep themselves away from social media. In fact, there are celebs who haven’t yet opened any social media accounts. Nine years ago on today’s date, Shah Rukh Khan joined popular micro-blogging website Twitter. Since then, he has posted 57.6 K tweets, follows 79 people and has 37.1 million followers.

SRK didn’t want to join the digital platform, but it was because of Karan Johar that the ‘Zero’ actor opened his Twitter account. Karan insisted that he should learn to share his life. Have a look at the first tweet of SRK shared by one of his fan pages.

Since 2010, he has been active on the micro-blogging site and he regularly keeps tweeting on social issues, family pictures, poetry, throwback pictures and more. Often, the superstar also gets involved in question-answer sessions. Amitabh Bachchan is the most followed actor on Twitter and Shah Rukh holds the second position.

Shah Rukh’s last release was ‘Zero’ and through the micro-blogging site, he made the best use of it to promote the movie. On gaining 32 million followers on Twitter, SRK thanked his fans with this picture of ‘Zero’.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, ‘Zero’ received a lukewarm response at the box office. Despite the stellar star cast, it failed to live up to the expectations of the audiences.
