Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor considered for Dhyan Chand biopic?

Legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand’s biopic has been in news since the past few months. The lead actor of the film is not yet finalized, however it is said that Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are being considered for the film.

A source said, “The casting process is still on. We are not at liberty to share anything right now.”

There were also reports that Varun Dhawan will play the role of the legendary hockey player. An insider said, “He (Varun) has two films in his kitty ‘Judwaa 2’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dhulania’. Talks are on for other films.”

Reportedly, the son of Dhyan Chand had sold movie rights of the film to be made on his father’s life to producers Pooja Shetty and Aarti Shetty. Pooja and Aarti took to idea to Karan Johar who came on board as a co-producer. The source said, “Once it (casting) is done we will begin shoot. So, it can be this year or next year.”

The movie will showcase Chand’s journey that how he rose to fame in British Raj in India and became one of the greatest hockey players of the world.
