Shah Rukh Khan reads Dua at Lata Mangeshkar’s last rites, fans say, ‘This is our India’

Lata Mangeshkar passed away yesterday on February 7. She was 92 years old and breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Lata Mangeshkar was a national treasure and she was one of the most celebrated singers. The last rites of Lata Mangeshkar took place in Shivaji Park where we saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other politicians along with Bollywood A-listers make their way to pay their last respects to the legendary singer. Shah Rukh Khan had also arrived and he was seen reading a dua for Lata Mangeshkar and this had the internet praising him.

Shah Rukh Khan was accompanied by his manager Pooja Dadlani. In the picture going viral on the internet, Pooja is seen joining her hands and praying while SRK read a dua at the last rites.

Meanwhile, talking about the reason for her death, Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating the singer at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital said in a statement, “It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8:12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post #COVID19: Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating her at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital”
