Shah Rukh Khan convinced Pathaan makers to cast him post Zero failure: I might not be as good as Tiger or Hrithik

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most hard-working and brilliant actors in Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan has given several hits in his career. The actor was last seen in Zero with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The romantic comedy failed to perform well at the box office. After a gap of four years, King Khan will be back with Pathaan. Fans are beyond excited for his full-length comeback film. Now, in a recent interview, King Khan opened up about the failure of Zero. Shah Rukh Khan also revealed how he convinced Pathaan makers to cast him post Zero failure.

In an interview with Robin Uthappa, King Khan said, “Four years ago, I was feeling a little weak, injuries were there, surgeries were there, but I thought I should do something that I haven’t done before. I should get physically very fit.” He further recalled telling Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand to make an action film with him. He shared, “I told my friend Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand, ‘Ek action picture banao (make an action film)’. So, they told me, ‘Sir, ye aap kya kar rahe ho, aap thak jaaoge (Sir, what are you doing? You will get tired)’. I asked them to at least try. I told them, ‘I might not be as good as Tiger Shroff or Duggu (Hrithik Roshan), but I will try my best.”

While talking about the failure of Zero, King Khan said, “I put in a lot of hard work into it but it didn’t work. I also felt bad about it. Then I decided to do what people like. I heard enough of my heart, so now I want to do something that people like me doing and yet something that’s different. Hence, I decided to take a break for a year, post the release of Zero.” He went on to add that he had planned to take a one-year break but due to lockdown and pandemic, the break got stretched.

This year, King Khan did cameo appearances in R Madhavan starrer Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha. Fans were beyond happy to see him on the big screen after a long break. Now that he’s back in action and has interesting films in his kitty, fans are excited. He is back with a bang!

Pathaan which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham is slated to release on 25^th January, 2023. The actor also has Dunki with Taapsee Pannu. The film is slated to release in December next year. Apart from that, he also has Jawan in the pipeline. Earlier, at an event, King Khan said that he’s confident about his upcoming releases – Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki.
