Shah Rukh Khan reveals he wanted to work with Rajkumar Hirani in Dunki after rejecting Munna Bhai MBBS, 3 Idiots: Maine kaha iss baar mat jana, mere saath hi banana

It’s just today, that the world witnessed the endearing world of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki with Dunki Drop 1. Released on the special occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, Dunki Drop 1 indeed came as the best treat for the fans. The madness of the same was well witnessed at the fan event that was held in Mumbai today. During the event, Shah Rukh Khan watched the Dunki teaser with his million fans while revealing some interesting anecdotes about the movie. But do you know, SRK didn’t let Rajkumar Hirani meet any actors for Dunki?

During the fan interaction, Shah Rukh revealed that after he missed out on doing Munna Bhai MBBS and 3 Idiots, he didn’t want to miss out on doing Dunki. Rajkumar said, “Pehele toh 2 saal lage film banne mein. Tab tak itne bade bann gaye the ki koi chance hi nahi tha ki wo mere saath kaam kare.” Shah Rukh added, “Mere saath bhi aise hi hua tha jab Raju mujhe Munna Bhai bata rahe the. Maine kaha naya director hai toh kar hi lega, main bolunga 6-8 month ke baad kar lenge. Toh maine kaha 9 months ke baad karenge, toh ye chala gaya. Fir 3 Idiots ke liye aaya toh maine kaha abhi bhi itna kya bada hogaya rehga main toh bohot bada hogaya hu.“

SRK continued, “Jab ye 3 Idiots ke liye chala gaya, tab main samajh gaya ki isse chance nahi lene ka. Iss baar COVID mein maine usko bubble mein hi pakad liya, maine kaha ki please iss baar mat jana, ye film mere saath banana. Dusre heroes ko bhi milne nahi diya. Abhi bhi allow nahi kar raha hu ki kisiko daal na de guest appearance me. Story hai ki hum dono itne bade hogaye hai ek dusre ke liye mujhe time lag gaya. Ab humne bohot hi pyaari aur chhoti si film banayi hai jab hum itne bade hogaye.”

Shah Rukh Khan reveals to have multiple drop of Dunki

At the fan event, Shah Rukh Khan said there will be a Drop 2 and 3 as well. The Jawan actor said, “We will show more in Drop 2 and 3. In such films, it is important. Raju sir was very clear that everyone gets to see the world of Dunki first. For now, we have shown the world of this movie. Next, we will show what I am doing, I am doing too good in this film.“

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The official release date of Dunki is December 22.
