Actor Shah Rukh Khan was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport where he was seen hiding his face from the shutterbugs. The actor arrived at the venue and straightaway headed to the airport without obliging the paps with photos and videos. Earlier reports suggested that SRK was stopped at the Mumbai airport along with the five members of his team by the customs officials.
Furthermore, SRK was even asked to pay a huge penalty for customs duty. A report in PTI suggested that Shah Rukh was stopped for carrying high-end cases of watches. Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) sources told Times Now that the Zero actor was taking expensive watches worth Rs 18 lakh and he was reportedly made to pay Rs 6.83 lakh as a penalty for custom duty. Now, the latest reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan was neither stopped nor penalised at the Mumbai airport.
According to ETimes, a senior customs officer refuted the sensationalism around this incident and said, “Shah Rukh Khan and his team were asked to pay duty for goods they were carrying. There was no penalty or interception as is being reported by the media. Everything being said on social media with regards to this case is a factual mismatch.”

Reportedly, they asked them to pay 38.5 per cent of the total value of these goods. Speaking about the same, the officials further mentioned that “the entire team was carrying 6-7 bags which were screened by security and they had several watch winders (specialised cases used for luxury watches) and one Apple watch, which they didn’t have receipts for, as they declared these were gifts. We searched for the value of these items on the internet and we determined everything put together was worth Rs 17.86 lakhs.”
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in Pathaan with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The movie is slated to release on January 23, 2023. He also has Jawan which is scheduled to release on June 2. Moreover, he will be collaborating with Rajkumar Hirani for the first time for Dunki which is said to release on December 22, 2023.
