Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s paternal cousin Noor Jehan is all set to contest elections from Peshawar. The cousin who lives in Pakistan is quite close to the Khan and has even visited him a couple of times. She will be running for a Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seat as an independent candidate.

Noor Jehan has collected her nomination papers from the Election Commission. As reported by Express Tribune, she said, “I want to work for women’s empowerment… I’d like to focus on the problems in my constituency.”

She was also quoted saying, “I hope people support me in the same way they support Shah Rukh Khan.”

The Badshah had once in an interview that his family is from Peshawar and some family members still live there. He had also revealed that he had visited Peshawar when he was 15 years old and he wished to visit it soon along with his children. On the work front Shah Rukh Khan is at present busy with Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. SRK will be seen as a dwarf in ‘Zero’ and the film will release on December 21, 2018.
